Reelary for Mac

Local AI search for your own video and photo library

Reelary is a desktop app that makes your own video and photo library searchable by describing what is in it. Point it at a folder or an external drive and it indexes every photo and every 2-second slice of every clip on your computer with a local vision model. Then you search in plain language, for example "drone shot over a coastline at sunset" or "close-up on hands", and the exact moments come back ranked by similarity. There is no tagging to do and nothing is uploaded: the models, the index and your footage stay on your machine.

Besides visual search, Reelary can search text that appears in footage, such as signs, titles and labels. You can paste a script with one line per shot and it will search your own footage for each line and lay out a rough cut on a simple timeline, where every shot can be swapped, re-searched or reordered. When the cut is ready you can export an MP4, or export an FCPXML or EDL project that points at your original files and finish the edit in Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve.

The free version has no time limit and needs no account: unlimited libraries, indexing and search, with exports capped at 720p and a light watermark, up to 60 seconds. Reelary Pro is a one-time purchase that removes the export limits and adds dialogue search, people and places search, and NLE project export. The same license works on Windows and Mac.
